Electricity Storage

Electricity Storage Systems represent one of the most effective technical solutions to prevent network problems and losses that may occur due to demand-supply relation in energy markets.

To ensure the continuity of the supply of renewable energy produced by electricity storage investments, Biotrend has made an application to the Energy Market Regulation Board on 26.10.2022 for the project of 6 self-contained Electricity Storage Plants of a total installed capacity of 300 MWe, each being 50 MWe.

Producing Electricity from Solar Power

Solar Electricity Generation Biotrend has received a total of 2 MW positive capacity opinion in 2023 to hybridize its existing Biomass Power Plants with Solar Power Plant (SPP) within the scope of the renewed regulation in order to minimize losses due to internal consumption in its power plants where it produces energy from biogas and landfill gas and to get the highest efficiency from its installed power.

Heat Sale:

Biotrend combined power plants produce electricity and heat.  In line with its energy efficiency policies and its vertical integration strategy, Biotrend aims at repurposing the bioheat, currently used in heating of anaerobic fermentation units and administration buildings, in compost production and green housing activities in the future. Aligned with the company's goal of being a facilitator in the transition to a low carbon economy, it is located within the Ezine Food Specialty Organized Industrial Zone.

Biotrend, within the scope of the amended regulation, has decided to merge its Biomass Power Plants with Solar Power Plants (SPP) to make them a hybrid solarbiomass system for the purpose of minimizing losses due to domestic consumption in power plants that produce energy from biogas and landfill gas, and to benefit its installed capacity to the highest level possible. SPP investments are set to start in 2023.
