In 2022, Biotrend took the first steps to pioneer in participation in the Plastic Waste Reduction Program (Plastic Program) implemented under the VERRA, and to own the first plastic credits in Turkey. In this context, the environmental positive impact of plastic waste reductions realized through investments in mechanical separation and material recovery plants and Chemical Upcycling plant will be certified. Through Plastic Credit, which is a very similar mechanism to the Carbon Credit, recycled and recovered plastics will be certified. Biotrend aims to become one of the global leaders in this field.
